The Role:
We’re seeking a hands-on, operationally excellent Cocoa Operator with strong field experience, high commercial awareness, and a deep understanding of the cocoa value chain. Based in San Pedro, the heart of the world’s cocoa capital, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the inbound, quality, processing, and outbound flow of cocoa beans – ensuring compliance, consistency, and commercial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management: Lead day-to-day cocoa warehouse operations (weighing, sampling, grading, drying, bagging, dispatch).

Quality Control: Ensure alignment with international grading and quality standards for export; oversee fumigation, infestation control, and bean fermentation if required.

Inbound & Outbound Coordination: Supervise local supplier deliveries, optimize intake capacity, and manage load-outs for domestic clients or export channels.

Stock & Systems Oversight: Manage inventory accuracy, documentation flow, and reporting (ERP familiarity is a plus).

Team Leadership: Supervise and coach local workforce (handlers, loaders, QA staff) to ensure high-performance output and safety compliance.

Compliance & Certification: Adhere to UTZ, Rainforest Alliance, and other sustainability/traceability schemes if applicable.

HSE & Infrastructure: Support HSE implementation and infrastructure improvement recommendations for better throughput, hygiene, and safety.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key link between head office, exporters, suppliers, and port agents.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience: 3–7 years in cocoa operations or similar agri-commodity processing (e.g., cashew, coffee, palm).

Knowledge: Cocoa quality parameters, bean processing, grading systems, certification schemes, and West African cocoa trade dynamics.

Skills: Strong leadership, reporting, and communication (English & French fluency required). ERP knowledge preferred.

Personality: Proactive, hands-on, resilient under pressure, and culturally aware.
